Delete your data
Last updated 28 August 2026 · Opus Digital, Kigali, Rwanda
Your records are yours. You can have all of them permanently deleted, and you do not have to give a reason.
Ask, from the phone number that owns the records:
Message +250 799 641 428 with “delete my data”, or email hello@qonta.rw from an address you have used with us and include the phone number.
What happens then
- We check the request came from the number that owns the records. This is the one step we will not skip — it is what stops somebody else deleting your records.
- We delete everything: every entry, budget, bill, goal and debt, the stored messages, the people on the account and the sessions.
- It is done within thirty days, and usually the same week. We reply to tell you it is done.
- Deletion is permanent. There is no undo and no archived copy to restore from.
What survives, and for how long
Encrypted backups of the database roll over on their own schedule, so a copy of a deleted account can persist in a backup for up to thirty days before it is overwritten. Those backups are never read except to restore from a failure. Failure logs may keep the fact that a message arrived — its size and time, never its text — for the same period.
Your WhatsApp conversation itself lives on your phone and on Meta's systems, not ours. Deleting your Qonta Home data does not clear the chat history on your handset; delete the chat in WhatsApp for that.
If you only want to leave
Stopping and deleting are different. You can stop paying and stop messaging and your records simply sit there, readable if you come back. Deletion is for when you want them gone.
One person, not everybody
If you share this with other people and want your own entries removed rather than the whole book, say so — tell us which. Entries carry who wrote them, so they can be removed without touching anybody else's.
